The Northwest Medical Center's Wound Care Program provides individuals a comprehensive approach to the care of chronic, non-healing wounds. Chronic wounds have many causes including diabetes, venous and or arterial insufficiency and pressure from immobility.
Following a thorough evaluation by a member of our highly qualified medical staff, each patient receives an individualized plan of care designed to address the wound as well as its underlying cause.
This continuum of Wound Care Services incorporates a wide range of advanced therapeutic technologies with services such as vascular assessment and surgical Intervention, infection control, debridement, laboratory, radiology, skin grafting, pharmacy, nutrition, protection devices, rehabilitation, home health care, patient and family education.
Our comprehensive approach to Wound Care provides each patient with a coordinated case management approach. This assures the appropriate level of support
to minimize waste, save money and avoid unnecessary
or duplicate treatment.
Patients are seen in the outpatient clinic on a weekly or
bi-weekly basis. This frequent visit schedule is part of the aggressive treatment program designed to promote healing of the chronic wound in the most efficient manner possible.
The Wound Care Program is located in the lower lever of Northwest Medical Center, with a large blue awning over the front entrance and a sign identifying the Wound Care Program.
All patients receive treatment plans prescribed and managed by members of the Northwest Medical Center Medical Staff. Physician referral is encouraged but is not a requirement for an individual to receive treatment in the program.
