The Northwest Medical Center's Wound Care Program provides individuals a comprehensive approach to the care of chronic, non-healing wounds. Chronic wounds have many causes including diabetes, venous and or arterial insufficiency and pressure from immobility.

Services

Following a thorough evaluation by a member of our highly qualified medical staff, each patient receives an individualized plan of care designed to address the wound as well as its underlying cause.

This continuum of Wound Care Services incorporates a wide range of advanced therapeutic technologies with services such as vascular assessment and surgical Intervention, infection control, debridement, laboratory, radiology, skin grafting, pharmacy, nutrition, protection devices, rehabilitation, home health care, patient and family education.

Wound Care ServicesOur comprehensive approach to Wound Care provides each patient with a coordinated case management approach. This assures the appropriate level of support to minimize waste, save money and avoid unnecessary or duplicate treatment.

Patients are seen in the outpatient clinic on a weekly or
bi-weekly basis. This frequent visit schedule is part of the aggressive treatment program designed to promote healing of the chronic wound in the most efficient manner possible.

Access

The Wound Care Program is located in the lower lever of Northwest Medical Center, with a large blue awning over the front entrance and a sign identifying the Wound Care Program.

All patients receive treatment plans prescribed and managed by members of the Northwest Medical Center Medical Staff. Physician referral is encouraged but is not a requirement for an individual to receive treatment in the program.

Healogics - The Power to HealThe Wound Care Center® at Northwest Medical Center, a member of the Healogics network, is helping raise awareness of chronic wounds during the sixth annual Wound Care Awareness Week, being held from June 3 to June 7. Wound Care Awareness was established by Healogics in 2014 to bring attention to the chronic wound epidemic and the 6.7 million Americans who are currently living with non-healing wounds. Program Directors across the nation will dedicate the entire week to educating physicians, patients and the general public about the chronic wound epidemic and the advanced wound care solutions available. Northwest Wound Care Center & Hyperbaric Medicine located at Northwest Medical Center offers advanced therapies to patients suffering from chronic wounds.

Healogics - The Power to HealNorthwest Medical Center physicians, leaders and clinicians celebrate the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award, which was given to Northwest Wound Care Center & Hyperbaric Medicine. This Center has achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of 413 eligible Centers, 342 were honored with this award. The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.
